How can it be stopped?

Its very stupid and very dangerous, yet people seem to be doing it more and more. Evil or Very Mad

There was an incident at West Ham last Sunday, Fulham last sunday and about two or three incident reported yesterday from the F.A. Cup game. Rolling Eyes

Its fuking daft because sooner or later some poor sods going to loose their sight or it could even be worse than that if it hits you right.

They were talking on MOTD about massive great big nets. I dont ming that idea, but it is something which needs stopping pretty sharpish.

Just wondered what you all thought about what could be done to quash it now.

You tend to get wee spates of this kind of behaviour and then it goes away again.

They're needing to jail people for this type of thing - if you did it in the street you'd be up on assault charges.

Sadly not - you pretty much have to kill someone nowadays or, even worse Rolling Eyes , commit fraud of some kind.

I guess with coin-throwing you could make a case for a custodial sentence if it did put someone's eye out but I imagine a few hours doing an O.A.P's garden would suffice ...

Those guilty of coin throwing should be stoned see how they like it! Perhaps it would deter them against doing it again?

I am getting a bit worried I am beginning to start thinking like a Tory! Shocked

On a similar, but not quite so dangerous note, which d*ckhead in the Longhurst threw a bottle onto the pitch yesterday? It landed in the goal, more or less on the line & must have been there a good few minutes before someone moved it.
To do it at all is ridiculous, but to do it when we were defending the Longhurst end beggars belief! Twisted Evil

Saw that too, I don't know whether the camera in the main stand was pointed towards the Longhurst, if anyone was watching the feed, if it's recorded or even if anyone realises that they should be looking at the footage, but I would imagine the thrower would be banned from BC if they caught them.

It's really bad form. Let's hope it is just a phase as someone suggested. The sad end result is that everyone else's enjoyment of football is what is going to suffer. I remember getting a tour of the Amsterdam Arena, and was shocked to see how the away supporters were segregated. There was a separate walkway to the stadium, where you would be separated from the rest of the crowd by way of a tall perspex glass barrier...and when Feynnord were in town a net was put over this section. It has to get to the stage where the fun would go out of the game.

To be fair, Team McGill are doing their best to eradicate it by charging us £13 to get in and then letting the caterers charge extortionate prices. That way people have less cash in their pockets.

If they put the price up to £10 for kids and £15 for adults, there would be less £1 coins and so potentially less ammunition for any coin throwers, it'd be for our own good Shocked

Wouldn't happen, because they'd bring money for food.

I thought a credit card was necessary to buy food at BC these days.

No method of payment is necessary after 45 minutes, because they're usually out of everything by half-time.

Wrong thinking. They should charge 20 for adults 10 for kids. Then no one will be in the ground to throw coins, and if people do pay they have no coins! Problem solved.

They have a neutral area at Fulham which is kind of weird tbh but they are only a small club and need to fll the ground for the cameras.

Just so you know a kids season ticket for any area of the ground at YCFC is £32. Which IMHO is a bargain amd pays for itself almost straight away.

We should put Nets Up like they have in Italy. The Jorvik Reds will be well happy. Just like in Italy innit. Smile

I blame Jamie Carragher, how do you expect fans to behave themselves when players don't Rolling Eyes

Tell you something mate, I respect Carragher for that particular incident. If more players threw the coins back at fans, instead of just standing there and taking it, i think fans would soon start thinking twice about throwing it in the first place.

They wouldnt take it from Random fan 1 in the street, why take it from Random fan 1 when he's busting his ar*e to put on a show for said Random fan.

If someone threw a coin at me and it hit me I would ensure the coin was returned to it's rightful owner...embedded in his forehead
