Benfica scored to put themselves 2-0 ahead on aggregate......Liverpool to score 3 goals in one half against a team that's going to show them how to defend......it ain't gonna happen this time, what a shame.

Arrivaderci Liverpool!

Don't remember last year do you Tommi? Liverpool needing three goals to stay in the competition on two different occasions?

Not saying it's gonna happen, but you don't know. I can't see it happening at the moment sadly.

Last year Liverpool could score goals......this year, I don't think they've managed 3 goals in one game on more than a handful of occasions-and they certainly won't with Benfica playing 11 men behind the ball.

Apart from the last few games, Liverpool have failed to score goals this season which is why they aren't challenging Chelsea this season.

And to be honest, the last 3 games:
Fulham - Haven't won away all season.
Newcastle - Shocking at the back.
Birmingham - Poor all season, loads of injuries.

It's not a great surprise Liverpool have score goals past these teams.

Shows Liverpools ambition when they win the Champions League and go out and buy Peter Crouch and then Robbie Fowler.

I thought Liverpool were very badly in debt, so they couldn't go out on the spending spree that was expected after the Champions League.

I could be wrong, don't know if it's true.

I think they'd have done better to try and play Cisse upfront instead of messing about with him on the wing. Ashton cost same amount as Crouch? Much better player IMO.
