Laurent Robert to Benfica-I always liked Laurent Robert as a player, I'm sure he was good enough to play for Portsmouth, but as usual, the chairman's fallouts with people cost the club, I hope he does well for Benfica.

Antonio Cassano to Real Madrid-Good bit of business for Madrid, getting him for under £4m. I don't think they really need him though, I think it's somewhat of a case to stop the other big clubs getting him.

Speculation that Robert Pires is going to Fiorentina and David Trezeguet is off to Arsenal as Thierry Henry goes to Barcelona.

I wouldn't think that Trezeguet will leave a high flying club to come to a club on a downward spiral like Arsenal.

Robert Pires going to Fiorentina is more realistic.

Cudicini won't go, certainly not on a permanent, as it was rumoured that top clubs in Italy were after him.

Beeni McCarthy is more realistic, but Portsmouth may not have the funds to afford him I wouldn't have thought.

I didn't realise he'd taken over already.

Yeah he has, although I think he is only letting them spend about £15 million quid at the moment, Cudicini could go for around £2.5 million.

What does anyone know about the Vidic guy Man U bought for £7m. He seems to be good, man u appear to be building from the back like chelsea did when they got the cash. It might take man u longer but next season should be better if man u get it sorted. I don;t care about arsenal, they can do whatever they want, preferably get relegated, but unlikely.

Vidic is a good defender, and definitely good enough to play in the Premiership. He was at the heart of the Serbia team that qualified for the World Cup, and is certainly a player to look out for.

Mark Schwarzer has handed in a transfer request at Middlesborough, would be a good signing, quality keeper.

Aye, What do we reckon to Cudicini going the other way?

Well other than Schwarzer they don't have another keeper with a great deal of experience, Jones has only played a handful of Premiership matches, so Cudicini would be worth a look.

Transfer deadline passed now. Dean Ashton to West Ham has been the biggest money move. Other notable moves include Danny Murphy to Spurs, DJ Campbell to Birmingham, Rob Earnshaw to Norwhich and Ade Akinbiye to Sheffield United.

He probably realised that he could get into the team, even if he had fallen out with the manager.

DJ Campbell is a decent signing I suppose, his meteoric rise is something a lot of Young Footballers should take heart for, last year he was playing Yeading!

Next Ian Wright Apparantly. I can't see him getting much of a game ahead of Heskey, Forsell and Sutton even though they aren't exactly world beaters.

Seems a very strange signing, how old is he?

Hew used to be at Aston Villa but sufferend a bit of a mental breakdown, ended up at Stevenage (my champo team of CML) before been released and moving onto Yeading.

Made a name for himself against Newcastle in the cup totally doing Boumsong inside out on a number of occasions, and moved to Brentford shortly after.

Hes still quite young and definately worth a go however may fall apart again if hes not playing regular first team. Would be surprised to see him at a Championship side next season Birmingham or not.
