Match well underway now with England on top. Haven't seen much of it live but seen highlights.
Didn't expect too much after the warm up games and thought we could be due for a blip, especially with Vaughn out. But we have started great! Tres on fire, and Bell proving his critics wrong. Just hope we can keep it going.

I think that if England lose this series, then the cricketing hype that has been built over the Summer will soon crumble, and cricket will be pushed down the ladder of sports again, until it is time for the World Cup or Ashes.

True, although the amount of people that started talking about Cricket over the summer that clearly have never watched the game before was ureal.
Won't die down for me as i play the game but yeah, those people jumping on the bandwagon will soon be off.

I think the cricket hype from the summer has already died down, just like the Rugby did straight away after the World Cup.
Managed to watch a fair bit this morning, thought we would do it with Jones and Udal in...allwell. I think we will still win series.

Well after the World Cup, the Rugby team started losing so no-one was interested, which is fair cos we were crap. Although they have now improved.
The Cricket hype was always going to fade away, if we started losing or the Premiership got exciting.

Aye true, did well against the All Blacks and Corry is turning out to be a good captain, Sheridan has come in and done a good job as well. Might signal a return to form perhaps.

You can't really compare the Rugby and Cricket. When the ashes comes around there are loads of people really interested in it and it causes a sensation around the country - even when we get battered 4, 5 or 6-0. With the rugby, there's little coverage, and even when we won the thing the press only started getting excited when we got the Quarter Finals - the equivalent of the 3rd or 4th test.
The cricket fever will slacken, but it won't die like the rugby fever has done.

Ian Bell and Kevin Pietersen hit contrasting hundreds in Faisalabad to revive English hopes as Pakistan were left to count the cost of seven missed chances on day three of the second Test.
The more flamboyant Pietersen needed only 137 deliveries before his third maximum - a monster pull off Shoaib Akhtar - to go with six fours brought up his hundred, only for him to go to the very next ball as his attempt to repeat the dose off the same bowler was mistimed tamely into the hands of mid on.
It is a package England's Ashes-winning team need in their middle order to hold together the instinctive stroke-players who proliferate - a point underlined by Jones as he instantly began to make the pace in a half-century stand with Bell and continued in similar vein as he and Ashley Giles registered the same milestone after tea.
