Nobody loses mates because of what goes on on an internet message board, if you have "lost mates" then I would suggest to you that they weren't very good "mates" in the first place and probably not worth having anyway.
The bottom line is that it's only a computer, and if you held things against people in real life who have said something nasty about you on a message board then you might as well live in a cardboard box with the lid sellotaped over.
