From YCST: City Fans group the Jorvik Reds have launched a new fundraising initiative which they hope will raise a large amount of money for the York City Supporters' Trust.

Jorvik Reds are working with ‘Txt Aid’ - a recently formed company that aims to raise money for charities, football trust’s, supporters groups, and other non-profit organisations with this simple promotion aimed at mobile phone owners.

For this partnership to be a success Jorvik Reds do need the help of as many City fans as possible to sign up to this scheme and the Jorvik Reds are appealing to all City fans who own a mobile phone to join the scheme.
The Supporters Trust applauded this fantastic initiative from these young fans who have agreed to donate 50 per cent of the profits directly to the Trust and to donate £50 if they reach 250 sign-ups. Any other monies raised will be used by the group with their aim of improving the atmosphere at City games both home and away, and adding a bit of colour and fun along the way.

The Way It Works

We need people, literally anyone with a mobile phone, to sign up to this scheme via the link displayed at the bottom of this post.

Once you have registered we will receive 10 pence for every person who signs up.

When you sign up, you agree to receive between 2 and 3 promotional messages, all approved by the Advertising Standards Agency, per week (this will cost you nothing at all) and we will also then receive 10 pence each for every message that is sent to you. However, no text messages will be sent out to anyone until we have 250 sign ups so please get as many people to register as possible!

All the messages will be specifically targeted for you, as when you sign up you complete a very short questionnaire which enables ‘Txt Aid’ to send only relevant messages to you.

This scheme costs you nothing to sign up to, nothing to opt out at anytime you wish, and nothing to receive the messages – it is a win-win situation for all of us!!
