Anyone know which are the decent nightclubs open in Leeds on a sunday night? Somewhere that plays indie would be preferred, (more than likely wont be open sunday though), otherwise we`ll just go somewhere that plays either a mixture of modern tunes or bangin beats.
Farsley Celtic here we come.....

Totally ignoring everything you just said about the actual music played, Hifi is the place to be on a Sunday. Free entry, live band and cool clientele. |

Hmmmm
Might have to venture to this so called Hifi place. As long as the doormen arent like all the other places in leeds with their oh so funny "not tonight lads, you're too casual" routines

I was working on the state of him at Kiddie last season with the acrobatics on the terrace (and the crash landings that accompanied them )

If i recall correctly, a certain David Barton wasn't too much better either.
I had to drive the lad home, complete with a collection of "borrowed" goods any Magpie would have been proud of. Heroic, aint that right Michael?!

Cockpit is the only real place to do any indie kind of music in Leeds I seem to think, very annoying having to go out listening to dum and base all the time.
It's near the train station, £3 entry I think. Full of strange people with strange haircuts and the like though and the drinks are pretty sh*t.
The only other Indie place I can think of is Halo on a Thursday night and other places sporadically |

Wire, near the corn exchange, on a Sat night is definitely inide music. Have vague memories of a very drunken night in there couple of months back.

Cockpit, Wire and Halo are all shut on Sundays, except for gigs and private hire. |

The third room is the best in the cockpit. The one with the upstairs bit. 80s indie and shoegaze. But I'm weird.
And if you could tell me the name of a good drum and bass club in Leeds fill me in, all I seem to hear is s***e dance music with some Euro bird singing a dogshit cover version over top of it!

Yeah I know, very unfortunate. We are looking for somewhere to go late doors next week after the Farsley game, we`ll do a few pubs then onto a club.

Well HiFi is open until 2am, but it's jazz, funk and soul. Good luck on finding an indie club. None of them are even good when they're actually open. I miss 5th Ave! |

When I was last out in Leeds about a year ago I was in a bar that played loads of classic mid to late 90s 'Indie': Longpigs, Shed Seven and the like. The main bar was on the right as you walked in. The bar was the length of the room and the toilets were upstairs which faced the entrance/exit. Anyone know what this place is called? Can't remember if it was near the Corn Exchange.

Not sure if that is Oporto but I bloody hate that place. All those Call Lane bars play their music too loud to talk and don't have dancefloors so you can't dance, so you just sit there, or usually stand as they're so crammed for some reason, yelling down each other's ears and generally being sweaty. Give me a cup of tea in front of the telly any day of the week! |

I wasnt even at Kiddie
Good do that was even if I did try my hardest to paralyse myself.
I nearly died last time I went out in Leeds and the time before that, The prospect of 2 days drinking with a 7pm kick off in leeds, I think you may aswell book the funeral now
How much is a taxi home from leeds these days, or what timne is the first train anyway. |

Don't think it was Call Lane, we went to a few places on there. Think I'll ask the people I was with!

You could always re-trace every step you've taken over the past year- eventually you'd end up at the club in question, at which point you can just ask the doormen or look at the sign

Not as good as 42s mind, Or South, Or even Sankeys on the right night for that matter. All have a better vibe than 5th. |
