Is that the one on Taddy road, which looks like a prison from the inside (as per Press pictures) and something out of a Dulux advert from the outside. Can't say I am impressed - but what do I know?

Just what I heard from somebody whose child went there when it was the old building, but they wished they'd had the opportunity for their young 'un to stay at the school they'd done their GCSEs at. With large class sizes, a variety of abilities and varing degrees of interest from the pupils not to mention new teachers who have to get to know individual needs, the continuity of a school's own sixth form with familiar teachers who'd already had the change to weed out the work shy would have been prefferable. The child's projected A level results were never achieved, there's no way of knowing what they would have done at another school of course, just what I heard, but then you know what the parents of failing children are likely to say.

The idea to incorperate further and higher education for 16-18 year olds in the one site is a brave one however, we'll see.

I've heard a lot of reports from people who went to York college and weren't impressed at all with the teaching and the pastoral side of things. had I gone there instead of staying on at Huntington sixth form I doubt I'd have done as well as I did. You don't have to have done your GCSEs there for you to go to their sixth form either.

I f***ing hated sixth form. I could never go in the library because of that c**t Walker. He made my blood boil.

Is the b*****d dead yet?

Mr Walker was a c**t but all the staff hate(d) him too. The librarian left because he was such a bully even after he'd been hauled over the coals by Bridge. He was still around last year though I think fewer people than ever fear him/take him seriously.

I go to York College to be fair its pretty crap due to the fact it hasn't got enough rooms to fit all the classes in, I end up having like 4 hours breaks.... the vending machine also gobbles your money aswell...£60 million gone to waste.

I think I'd have stopped feeding it after I'd put the first million in with no return!

I never knew that. Mrs Briggs was it? She was alright her. I remember he was seriously ill a few years ago and there was a rumour he'd died but then he turned up again about a year later, even more of an arsehole.

Could never understand anyone in that school who wanted to be a librarian. Our kid were one and in yr 7+8 Walker used to bully him like mad.
