Too busy texting the antipodeans from work... carry on!!

Just so we're clear: Aussies said they hate us, right? But if they are so preoccupied how are we supposed to get our drinks orders delivered correctly over the next few days? Cos the only time we encounter the chaps is when we order a couple of pints when we piss on them in the rugby World Cup!!

Also - given that these criminals feel immune from race hate laws, are we eligible to ask whether they hate us now more or less than before, given that we've rubbed their faces in the mud?

In the silence that we encounter for the humiliated criminals, let us pause for a moments pause for those who, despite being eligible for UK passports, have abandoned these sacred coasts... Rule Britannia! Advance the cause of freedom! God save the Queen!

Shortcut: if you've screwed off to Australia because you like the weather, please don't come back. We don't need the venereal diseases you've picked up from a Barbie.

Too busy pissing myself to be arsed!!

Actually Bobby it was only the Aussie coach who made that statement, a great pep talk for England by him I would say.

His statement sorta reminds me of all the gloating you were making about Leeds United when they were relegated and docked 15 points this season. You seem to have gone very quiet on that subject of late, I wonder why? Laughing

Well... because it happened in the past, really. Not much point mentioning it every five minutes. Wasn't it great to see the Football League refusing to give in to Bates' bullying though?

God I was trollied when I posted that last nightt!

I can't stand Rugby Union, mainly because of games like yesterday i.e. yet another won by a team without scoring a try, but it's always nice to get one over the Aussies so well done lads! I suppose i'll have to climb aboard the bandwagon again next week seen as it's against the French!

Can someone put me in the picture here?

I have NO INTEREST in Rugby - League or Union to be honest - as I was reared in a household that was dedicated to Football, Snooker and Boxing. But, having said that, I've heard Rugby-daft colleagues and friends talking about it and all I've heard is that "England have no chance". Aren't we supposed to be s***e?

I came away from the City game yesterday probably more disappointed than I have ever felt after 50 years of attending BC, and feeling just as bad when I left home at 0415 this morning for the 0600 Amsterjam flight from LBA. What didn’t help was my regular taxi driver (County Cabs) is a Leeds fan so he was told to "shut it" before we made it onto the ring road, however to meet up in the bar with other disgruntled supporters at Schiphol helped sooth my sore wounds, because the place was full of OZ and Kiwi fans………GOING HOME…… in all honesty the banter was extremely amusing.

I’m in Vienna now after 12 hours travelling and once again come to terms with the frustration of yet another dreadful City performance; the only consolation is that I don’t arrive back into LBA until after nine o’clock on Tuesday night so won’t have to put up with another dismal night at BC.

I'll be missing Woking next weekend in favour of a trip to Paris. I have my ticket and it'll beat watching City at the moment.

5:30am Eurostar out on the Saturday morning and an 8am one back on the Sunday morning - no need for a hotel Laughing

I didn't realise that the Pompidou Centre was open all night? Wink

Even the most fervent haters of Rugby Union have to agree that any competition that potentially allows you to humiliate and bully the Aussies, French and South Africans en route to glory can't be all bad! Lets hope Ashton's boys can hit the French hard on Saturday!

H'mm If there is any justice a team like France that at least trys to entertain by actually using their backline will beat England. France have always had a reputation for playing open flowing Rugby.

Having said that back in 91 England went to Paris as underdogs and beat them in a World Cup quarter final so if the England forwards dominate like they did back then a repeat could be on the cards. You play to your strengths I suppose but the England Rugby side strike chords with it's football team usually awful to watch. I will stick to any standard of football rather than lowering myself to pay to watch Rugby Union thanks and that includes watching City been humiliated by a village team !

Switching codes a great day out today at Headingley with workmates to see Castleford Tigers comprehensively beat Widnes to reclaim their Super League place for next season. Very Happy

Around 2002 England were easily the best Rugby Union side out there, they played fast, open rugby and had backs that were on form and flying. That particular style though lent itself to a few failures, missed Triple Crowns etc... They had come up against the best though and turned them over, by and large. In order to win the World Cup, they had to become a little more cynical and play to their strengths. To be fair, they did and won.

The All Blacks have choked on numerous occasions and are usually the yardstick by which other sides are measured. Going into this Tournament, England were criticised and written off and were unsure as to their best side. There had been no settled side for some time. They were off form and no-one gave them a chance.

On Saturday (seen the game since, was at work) they played with vigour and manipulated Australia's weakness in the scrum and the maul and drove through. In the opening half hour they played as well (in terms of expansive rugby) as anyone had against the Aussies. A good side though will never allow you to do that for long.

They were pragmatic and full of endeavour and deserved the win. Why criticise that? On the world stage, success is the yarstick for performance in most quarters, not style. Look at City and Billy Mac!

However rugby fans appreciate the brilliant work the England forwards do. France can play open flowing rugby all they want, they didn't fair too well against us 4 years ago, did they? I wouldn't be surprised of a repeat.

Can't play freeflowing rugby with no basic foundation to launch it off.

Basics first, If that means running over their front row, Josh Lewsey killing people and Andrew Sheridan eating Chabals kids then so be it.

I went for the whole day and watched the three games.
The NL3 Conference Final,NL2 Final and NL1 Final.
The first game was the NL3 Final between Featherstone Lions and Bramley which Featherstone Lions won although Bramley eased there way past Featherstone Lions to get to the final before Featherstone got there with a victory over the Warrington Wizards.
Then the second game was the NL2 Final the league that York City Knights are in and it turned out to be a much better affair and Featherstone turned out worthy winners in the end 26-4 and Oldham did not turn up after doing so well in the games en route to the final and then the NL1 Final came up that was another step up from the previous two games and Cas where by far the better team on the pitch and ex York Knight Danny Brough who was MOM and Anthony Thackeray helped Cas to a big victory over Widnes which means they will be playing SL rugby next season.
£15 to watch 3 games of RL was not bad i think and it was a really good day although the scoreline suggests the games were a bit one sided.
I wish i could be going to the Super League Grand Final on Saturday but i am putting my country first and going to see Scotland v Ukraine.
I have previously bought my tickets for the three GB games against New Zealand at the end of this month.
All in all yesterday was a top notch day of RL and i am sure they will be many more days like it to come in the future.

I am going to Woking, I wish I was going to Glasgow instead, that's what false hope and having to book train tickets months in advance does for you.

There are busloads of Ukrainians leaving from Manchester on Saturday morning heading for Glasgow, you'll be pleased to know.

I have a feeling it's all going to end in tears for the Scots on Saturday. We live in hope!

And ? I am just simply saying that Football comes before either code any time not that I have little interest in it. If there is Footy on it takes precedent over Rugby

I was only a young lad but for some reason I can remember a high hick which the French full back caught only to be mauled over the line by the English Forwards in a rolling maul leading to a try. I suppose more of the same will do on Saturday. From a neutal point of view however France have always been the team renowned for playing open and freeflowing Rugby it will be interesting to see if their pack gives them the platform to do it. Because Englands main strength is there scrum.
