I know it's still early days, but am I right in thinking York were around 40/1 to go up at the start of the season.
I know after the Sheffield Wednesday match I was tempted to risk a groat or two, but then didn't bother.
Wondered if anyone out there was bold enough was starting to get a bit nervy? |

How does that work - We get promoted or we don't. Sounds a good bet to me. To be serious though, after I watched them take SW apart I was very tempted.
Needless to say I am pissed off now cos I think we will go up and I could have made a little on top!

The 40/1 odds were to win the title surely?
Doubt you'd have got odds anywhere near that to go up via playoffs.

e/w (each way) was for 1st and 2nd places only. However I am not sure if it was where they finished or who wins the play off.

I think on last year's showing we would!
I'm sure it was just to get promoted - but I may be wrong - the start of the season seems a long way back now.

I had 25/1 for promotion (1st or playoffs) a few games into the season - however I ripped the ticket up whilst we were in the "blip period"! Looks like it was a good thing though - our forms way better since!

All depends who you bet with as to what your particular each way odds were - i.e. how many places, and what fraction of the odds you get. Common odds were 25/1 or 33/1 with 1/4 the odds first three. Some bookies were taking bets on actual promotion. Then of course theres the handicap markets...

To be conference top scorer I have Andy Bishop 9/2ew (1st,2nd) and Justin Richards 4/1ew (1st,2nd,3rd).
Anyone know what happens if they both have the same number of goals?

I took 25/1 with Vic Chandler, E/W paying 1/4 for top 3 finish, before the season started. Within 5 minutes I found a stack of bookies giving 40/1!

I put £15.00 on the title at 40/1. and £5.00 e/way paying 1st/2nd places only, same odds.
Looks like 25 notes up the creek to me

Don't try this at home kids, the lack of a decent bank account, no overdraft and no plastic really gets on your tits when you've been discharged over a year after three years as a bankrupt (and it costs you £400 to go bankrupt in the first place )

We're only offering bets on the conf winner here, with no price being offered on York now for quite a while (accrington currently 50/1 on). Bet365 are usually good for conference markets (top gscorer, promotion, relegation), but they've got them all suspended right now for some reason.

Bet365 are now up to date, and have the following
York 4/1 to be promoted.
Andy Bishop 4/5 to be top goalscorer.
Clayton Donaldson 50/1 to be top goalscorer.
York to come second behind Accrington 7/1.
Betfair currently have York to win the league at 499/1 to come top 3 at 21/10, and scarboro just slightly better than evens to come bottom.
