What on earth is going on at Newcastle United?

In 2 seasons, they've gone from Champions League competitors to bottom-half residents. Players are wanting to leave, they're now 2-0 down to Bolton, and have 1 point in the Premiership!

IMO, Souness should never have been appointed. He's made the most outrageous buys as manager, bringing in the likes of Amdy Faye, Charles N'Zogbia etc. who have all proved to be worthless. Players don't like him, and the fans don't like him.

How they expect to get Owen is beyond me. They are a club going nowhere, until they find a decent manager.

If they don't find much success in the League and still keep spending, I can see them becoming like Leeds United IMO.

it's similar, both sacked an excellent manager and signed on something not up for it, having aid that, I doubt Aldershot will be bottom of the conference long...

I have always been a big fan of Michael Owen and am happy he has come back to English football, although I would rather him have gone back to Liverpool than to Newcastle.
